Arcata Fire District employs a full-service Fire Protection Bureau. The Fire Prevention Bureau is responsible for enforcing fire and building code compliance, plan reviews, construction plan reviews and inspections. They offer commercial, business, residential, apartment, hotels, and motel inspections. The Bureau also works directly with the community providing public education programs such as trainings on fire extinguishers, disaster preparedness, and fire safety in your home, apartment, or business.
