 Training Burn | April 2016On Saturday, April 23, 2016, Arcata Fire District conducted joint training with Blue Lake Fire District, Fieldbrook Volunteer Fire Department, and Humboldt Bay Fire Authority on a structure at 2200 McKinleyville Ave. Firefighters trained with live fire and extinguished room-sized fires inside the structure. |  2015 Vol. Recruit Academy Wildland2015 Volunteer Recruit Academy Wildland Training conducted at the field by Foster Ave and Q Street on May 16th, 2015. |

 USCG Helicopter DrillOver multiple days in December of 2014, Arcata Firefighters, along with the US Coast Guard and Arcata-Mad River Ambulance participated in a drill that involved a simulation of a helicopter crash. |  CPR TrainingAs first responders, firefighters are trained in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. Every two years, Arcata Fire Protection District holds a class to re-certify the district firefighters. |
 MCSD Hazardous Materials DrillOn November 6th, 2013, the McKinleyville Community Services District, along with Arcata Fire Protection District, Humboldt Bay Fire, and the Humboldt-Del Norte Hazardous Materials Response Team conducted a drill at the Waste Water Treatment Facility on Hiller Road. This kind of multi-agency training is a huge benefit to first responders and to the communities that we serve. |  Hoist Drill with CAL FIREThe Arcata Fire Protection District and CAL FIRE conducted a drill in the Arcata Community Forrest on Wednesday, October 10th, 2013. An employee from the City of Arcata, California met with the crew from E8211 and led them on a 1 mile hike to the victims. The injuries were a major threat to one of the two victims and resulted in the need to air lift him out. CAL FIRE's Kneeland Helitack Crew airlifted the victim through their new hoist. |
 Pump OperationsArcata Fire trained for numerous days on Pumping Operations in the month of September in 2013. |  2013 HSU Fire DrillOn August 14, 2013, Arcata Fire Protection District and Humboldt State University conducted their annual fire drill at the HSU Campus. Students, as we as Univeristy Police & Humboldt Bay Fire participated. |
